Viva Sanchez Reinoso Morand

divides her time between several artistic activities: performance, composition, improvisation and research. She has had a passion for the music of Johann Sebastian Bach for many years, is actively involved in contemporary music and creation, and practices improvisation and composition, seeking new sounds in as many different aesthetic fields as possible (experimental, jazz, world music, electronic music).

She started playing the piano at the age of 5 at the Centre d'Exploration Musicale in Geneva with Dominique Barthassa, whose approach to music is based on improvisation and movement. She then studied with Alexis Golovine at the CMG in Geneva, Catherine Courvoisier in La Chaux-de-Fonds (soloist diploma), K.-H. Kämmerling in Hanover (Künstlerische Ausbildung), Gottlieb Wallisch in Neuchâtel (master of pedagogy) and also obtained a master of theory at the HEM in Geneva.

Viva Sanchez Reinoso performs in Switzerland, France, Germany, Canada, Argentina, South Africa, Russia, Austria, Cyprus, Belgium and Holland, and these professional travels allow her to discover the world and various cultures, bringing back in her suitcases ideas, sensations, questions and a lively curiosity.

In 2010, she co-founded the Batida Ensemble, a group of two pianists and three percussionists, with whom she performs in international seasons and festivals.
Inspired by multidisciplinary collaborations, she is co-founder of the Association Amalthea in Geneva and is involved in projects with dance, shadow theatre, painting, cinema, living sculpture, gastronomy, literature and theatre. Viva Sanchez Reinoso has been lucky enough to be supported by many institutions as well as wonderful artists, musicians and friends who have helped her build her life path.
